Honeysticks started at a New Zealand preschool, when a teacher noticed toddlers chewing on crayons made with paraffin wax and printing pigments and went looking for something safer. Beeswax turned out to be the answer, and Honeysticks was born.

Co-owners Will and Luke have run the company since, hand-making every crayon in New Zealand from natural, food-grade ingredients with New Zealand's oldest crayon maker.
