First Times Tables from Orchard Toys is a bright, hands-on maths game that introduces children to the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. The colourful components can first be used as a learning resource, helping parents and children explore the basic ideas of multiplication, grouping and number sequencing, before turning into a fun, pancake-themed game.
Once children have grasped the basics, the game begins. Players spin the spinner to see which times table they are practising, then use the card spatula to flip a pancake and check the answer, racing to stack the most pancakes on their plate. The box contains 30 pancake cards, 4 place setting boards, 3 number line boards, a card spatula, a spinner board and a two-part spinner for 2 to 4 players.
