Every wooden railway needs a hard-working engine, and the Hape Battery Powered Engine No.1 is ready for the job. At the touch of a button it drives forward and in reverse, with front and rear lights to guide the way along the track.
Magnetic connectors let it couple to carriages and other vehicles, and it is compatible with most popular wooden railway sets and tracks. It runs quietly and can pull a string of carriages up hills and around bends, so play stays peaceful.
Added to an existing collection or enjoyed on its own, this little red engine makes a wonderful gift and encourages imaginative, hands-on play. Requires 2 x AAA batteries (not included).

This motorised train is well built and runs well on all brands of the ubiquitous wooden track system. Robust construction and very good battery life. Added bonus if the head light for night use.
